One of the first companies to manufacture the silk carpet…
With the developments in tourism in Turkey during the year 1960, Hayrullah Çınar decides to expand his business. “Hayrullah Çınar and Sons,” who have been manufacturing rugs and woolen carpets up until 1965, became one of the first companies in Turkey in the year of 1965 to manufacture a carpet made out of silk. With the increase in demand for silk carpets, all the hasps in looms are replaced by hanks in just a couple of years.
Today, “Çınar” is the largest Turkish company manufacturing silk and wool carpets. The never-changing basic principles of Çınar, set forth by Hayrullah Çınar himself, are preserved generation after generation: honesty, non-compromises on quality, renovation, and hard work.

Carpet weaving dates back to 110 years ago in the family of Safdarzadeh Haghighi. The father, the late Haj Mehdi Khan, was born in 188l in Esfahan in a committed, religious family. At about 12 years of age, he was trained by masters such as Master Abdolsamad Eslimi, Master Abdolmotaleb Shoureshi, and Master Abdolrahim Khan Shoureshi, his relatives.
He was famous at the age of 18 as Ostad Mehdi Khan and chose the business of carpet weaving as his primary job with interest and perseverance. He initially started the business with a few carpet frames in his own house. From the very beginning, the merchants active in the carpet trade got acquainted and concluded prepurchase contracts with him to develop his business.
Haghighi’s carpets are more than a century of love and passion dedicated to the carpet industry.
